UPDATE: The Weeknd has cancelled again!
Inaugural Queens music festival The Meadows goes down this weekend, Saturday (10/1) and Sunday (10/2), at the parking lot at Citi Field, and the set times are now here.
As you may have already heard, The Weeknd was supposed to headline but will now play at 5:30 PM on Saturday (so he can play SNL) and J Cole will headline at 8:45. They’re both on The Meadows stage, and Grimes is right between them. There’s probably/hopefully enough time to skip away to the Shea stage to catch Savages at 7:45 PM too. The only real conflict on Saturday is Yeasayer vs Kamasi Washington at 2:45.
On Sunday, fans of ’80s-style pop will have to decide between seeing Twin Shadow perform Prince’s Purple Rain or The 1975, both at 7 PM. Chairlift are up against Charles Bradley at 1:15, which is a tough call too. Other than that, things look pretty good. Chance the Rapper is on The Meadows stage at 5:45, followed by Kanye West on the same stage at 8:15.
Check out all the set times HERE.
Speaking of The Weeknd, he dropped another song from his upcoming album. It’s called “False Alarm” and it’s the closest The Weeknd has ever come to dance-punk… which ends up working out pretty well. The album drops November 25 via XO/Republic. Stream the new song:
